Brick by Brick is an exciting, six-week startup program to help aspiring retailers just like you take a concept for a new store and make it a reality!

We will help you take your vision and make it into a reality. The Brick by Brick retail program was created to help guide you through every step of starting your own retail business. We help you build your vision up through the key foundational building blocks that will create a solid business before launching.

About the Instructor

Karie Armstrong, SCSM (Senior Shopping Center Manager) has 22 years of experience helping retailers, service providers, restaurants, and entrepreneurs successfully launch in retail markets. Armstrong worked for some of the nation’s leading shopping center developers in California including Simon Property Group, The Mills Corp., and Centremark, managing financial operations, marketing, finance, and leasing. She focuses on empowering business owners to take the right risks, stack the right skills and actions, and get results.

How it Works

By the end of the Brick by Brick Program, you will have:

DO I HAVE TO OPEN A STOREFRONT OR LEASE A SPACE TO BE PART OF THIS PROGRAM?

No, you can participate in this program regardless of what stage you are at. This program was created to help you, whether you’re just exploring, looking to grow your current business, or looking to open a new shop!
We’ll look into pop up shops, kiosks, mobile shops, brick and mortars, and other trends. If you decide to lease a space or open a storefront, we can also help you with that! We will guide you step by step with negotiating your lease and starting your shop.

I’M A LITTLE SCARED TO START A RETAIL BUSINESS IN THIS ENVIRONMENT, HOW WILL THIS PROGRAM HELP ME?

Retail is constantly changing; we can help you stay prepared. This program will help you understand the retail trends head-on and help answer your retail operations, pricing, leasing, planning, controls, and financing questions.
